Den 28/11 2011 kunne Mads Anker slå dørene huller og op til sin nye virksomhed Mads Anker VVS, der ligger i hjertet af Hals på Nordmandshage.
Mads Anker er uddannet VVS-installatør i 2007 fra NOEA Nordjyllands erhvervsakademi. Drømmen om at blive selvstændig startede dog allerede mange år tidligere, mens Mads stod i lære som VVS montør i Vodskov.
”Egentlig startede drømme vel allerede, da jeg var lille, men der blev for alvor pustet til gløderne, da jeg stod i lære”, udtaler Mads og fortsætter ”Jeg tror altid, at det har ligget i kortene, at jeg skulle blive selvstændig.”
At der er iværksætterblod i årene er der vist ingen tvivl om; både Mads’ morfar og farfar var nemlig selvstændige med egne butikker. Mads’ morfar, Leo Nielsen, havde en slagterforretning i Aalborg, mens Mads’ farfar Jens Kristian Anker havde sin egen møbel og møbel-tæppeforretning i Hals i de selvsamme lokaler, der i dag danner rammerne for Mads’ kontor og forretningsadresse.
”Det er helt bestemt noget særligt at drive forretning fra min farfars gamle lokaler. Der er selvfølgelig blevet ændret en del, og det meste af den gamle møbelbutik er i dag solgt fra til en lægepraksis, men mit kontor er indrettet samme sted, som min farfar havde kontor, forklarer Mads.
Inden Mads blev uddannet installatør, brugte han sin montøruddannelse til at samle en masse håndværksmæssig erfaring. Han har blandt andet arbejdet flere år på Nordsøen for Esbjerg Oilfield Services, der er underleverandør hos Mærsk, hvor han også stiftede bekendtskab med smedefaget. Ligeledes har Mads arbejdet som teknisk ansvarlig hos L & H Rørbyg i Aalborg, en af Danmarks største teknikentreprenører.
Nu er drømmen endelig blevet til virkelighed, og Mads er allerede godt i gang med sit nye firma, der tilbyder alt indenfor VVS, gasinstallationer, blikkenslagerarbejde samt ventilation, smedearbejde, sol- og jordvarme.
